Production of folk music not based on certain rules is the main point limiting the researches on this subject. The internal structure variables are generally known on the basis of the “Western Music” terms and therefore one-to-one use of the said terminology causes disadvantages for the folk music. On the other hand, studies on “Genres and Types” are also not at a sufficient level. In this respect, it seems that the internal structure has been tried to be solved as western music-centric since it has been addressed same with the external structure variables. This study conducted on variables in music such as forms/styles and the genres/types depending on the said variables is presented to the platform for the first time. The suggestions we put forth should definitely be discussed and new suggestions should emerge. In this study, suggestions on the internal structure and external structure relation in Folk Music and the Genres and Types in Folk Music are offered.},author={Mehmet Ali Özdemir},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
