DEVELOPING OF “USULY-JADID” SCHOOLS IN AZERBAIJAN

Abstract

The article deals with the developing of “Usuly-Jadid” schools in Azerbaijan based on voice method. The founder of this method was Ismayil bey Gasparli, the social and political figure of Crimean tatars, enlightener, publisher and editor of the first turkish newspaper “Tarjuman”, whose 165th anniversary was marked this year (on March 21, 2016). Late XIX century and early XX century he acted as a great reformer of education, school and enlightenment not only among muslim peoples living withing the borders of Russia but also in the Caucasus and Central Asia. During his lifetime his contemporaries named him “the teacher of teachers”, “the father of muslim journalism”, “the creator of turkish people”, “the factory of ideas” etc. It is not accidental at all he was nominated for Nobel peace prize in 1910.
