Abstract

The subject of this study is the teaching and learning strategies which need to be considered in the education of adult students with amateur purposes. The research is a descriptive study based on general screening model. Today the adults are more conscious than ever about the fact that the new activities can start at any stage of their lives. Adults possess the intrinsic motivation to study without the need of an external encouragement, which makes them ideal model of students in this sense. Motivations of adult students are generally high and they express their problems in a clear and understandable manner.The teachers may come across adults who come with limited or excellent former education, as well as ones who may be taking the first steps to learning. Some of them may have a background from their childhood years, or may have managed to develop a brief ability in popular music, but are unable to read music.
