Abstract

‘Identity, belonging and composition’ are the most important concepts in Tanpınar’s novels. Tanpınar choses Muslim-Turkısh composition’s variation and transformation as a historical backraund in his novels. He gives political, social anda culturel tension in via males. Tanpınar releases the composition’s basic elemenets quetioning and finding solution males hold. Tanpınar speculates his novels as a west and east conflict. While he is building his male characters identity. He also emphasizes females as “male’s permanent asistant” Females stands next to males by their shadow identities. But Sabiha, who is the central character in Sahnenin Dışındakiler, is separeted from the female cahracters in Mahur Beste and Huzur. Sabiha enforces to open the doors whose borders are drawn from male characters and she revolts against the rules of male’s world.
