The Community Houses, which were founded as a result of a historical development and formation process, social needs of inform public about the Turkish revolution after Turkish Republic founded. The 1930’s political, economic, cultural and social development was effective in the opening of the Houses. Europe and the impact of the practice on adult education in some European countries resulted in the Community Houses being opened in 14 cities on the 19th of February 1932. The number of Community Houses increased quickly and continuously as an organization from its opening by CHP. The Community House was opened in Elmalı in 1937. Elmalı Community Houses, tried to spreading innovations of the public, made efforts to adopt them in the period from the opening to its closing. Elmalı Community House’s activities faced problems, its role in cultural development and public education have tried to put forward in this study. The Community Houses was the target of the criticism by Demokrat Parti because of working closely with the CHP.
