Abstract

According to the research of archaeological findings, it shows that this area has been related to the Aegean World, Central Anatolia, Amik Plain, Northern Syria and Cyprus since long before. During the Persian invasion, there occured a fussion between the western and eastern civilization in the Ancient World. Between the main route of King Road, the connected route and the port cities, the economic and trade relations has been increased and after that it has continued. The cities in the area which provide to sail, were the most important element for Central Anatolia and Upper Mesopotamia. The aim of this study, both explaining the importance of marine and land trade the development of the maritime and part construction techniques and the natural and artifical architectural structures in the cities of İskenderun Bay; and trying to attract attetion to cultural, social, political importance in the cities of the ancient world.
