These risks might take the shape of accidents, illnesses or psychological disorders. Besides accident risks, students can also be exposed to psychological risks throughout their studies. These risks cause students to develop various illnesses such as depression and anxiety disorders. Protection of students through social security systems holds great importance in terms of treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of loss of income following accidents. Foreign sources have been preferred for literature reviews since there are not enough studies in national literature on this subject. The study consists of the examination of basic concepts about educational activities in Turkey, philosophy of social security, school accidents and the insurance of students in Turkey. School accidents in Turkey have been evaluated via newspaper articles since there are no statistical data on the subject. The objective of this study is to make it possible for students to be included in the insurance system and having precautions taken on the matter by calling attention to school accidents in Turkey. By this means, it will be possible for security measures to be improved in schools; and by preventing accidents, the ground will be prepared for the next generations to receive education in healthier environments.},author={Tuğba GÜNER},year={2016},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
