SAMUEL BECKETT BETWEEN MODERNISM AND POSTMODERNISM
MODERNİZM İLE POSTMODERNİZM ARASINDA SAMUEL BECKETT
Abstract
Postmodernism is struggle to dilemma of modernism and it is alternative of modernism. Modernism and postmodernism has different specalities, even if modernism has strong framing, in direct contradiction postormodernism has desultory conformation. This differentation of two sides effects art studies very deeply. Samuel Beckett is one of basic example of this process. Samuel Beckett considered as close to the theater of the absurd and at the same time his plays' include modernist images. Therefore he couldn't decisively be evaluated as a modern or postmodern artist.
