Abstract

This research is carried out to explore how teachers who graduated from Turkish Language Teaching department think they benefited from their courses in their syllabi and how to improve the syllabi based on their feedback. Survey model of qualitative research models was used. 185 teachers from Istanbul, Ankara, Antep working in schools of varying socioeconomical backgrounds and demographics, filled out the open ended questionnaire form, results of which then categorized and presented via content analysis. It has been concluded from the responses to the open ended questionnare forms that the courses pre-service Turkish language teachers take help with their work after they graduate but not as much as the teachers would like them to; also teachers pointed out that they have trouble managing problems that arise in educational processes inside and outside the classroom. In this context, proper recommendations were made to make Turkish language education more efficient.
