Abstract

The Air Transport Sector has important effects on the economic activity, especially on national income and skilled employment. The sector is quite resilient to internal and external shocks and continues to grow. In recent years Turkey has become very popular in the aviation sector and emerged as a country that shows rapid growth. The capacity problems of Turkey’s most important and largest airport, Ataturk Airport, has revealed the need for a new airport. What quantities and qualities of human resource will be needed for the management of the new airport capacity is calculated with the help of CAGR for different scenarios. It is considered that findings will be helpful in both qualitative and quantitative human resource planning. The government should take an active role with the new education/application model for solving the human resource needs of the sector that has a huge economic impact.
