Abstract

Adil Kutuy one of the masters pen in contemporary Tatar literature. One of his outstanding works is “Unsent Letters”. This work is comprised of unsent letters of the female character of the work Aliye who fell in love during her student years and got married but for various reasons she had to broke up. Author, in his work on the one side describes this relationship, on the other side he questions it by Aliye’s view. The work shows the Soviet-Tatar women’s stance towards life and survival struggle during the period the Aliye character is written; on the other hand, it puts forward the general features of an ideal woman should have which was constituted around this character. Kutuy in this work, emphasizes the importance of family concept despite the conflict with official ideology. Author is arguing for that people who loves each other should live together, for this reason the family should be protected, he states that children grow up in a healthy family environment.
