Abstract

The aim of the study is to evaluate thoughts of high school students about Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs). In this research, we used phenomenological pattern as qualitative survey models. The data was collected from a total of 15 high school students in Gaziantep. We utilized a semi-structured interview form created by the researcher, and lesson observations of two classes, the pictures drawn by students about IWB as data collection tools. These data were analyzed by the content analysis method. In conclusion, it was found that students had positive thoughts about IWB, they wanted the usage of IWB in their courses especially at mathematics and physics. Technical problems were noted that IWBs were working slowly, the touchpad surface of IWBs was too sensitive, IWBs were not suitable for usage after a power failure. It was found that IWBs might contribute to increase understanding and visuals in courses, to use videos and music, to provide more problems solving power. According to result
