Abstract

Our purpose in this study is to determine 7th grade students’ comprehension and aquisition levels for the concepts which appear in the Communication and Human Relations unit, which is also the first unit in the 7th grade curriculum in the year 2004. The glossary test and the qualificatipon forms are used with this purpose. The success levels of students are evaluated in terms of various independent variables, however it’s observed that solely attending a private school or having private lessons variables have created a positive difference on their success. The pupils which were subject to the research had an arithmetic average of 68%. It’s understood from the results of the interviews that, even the best pupils got short in concept comprehension as they stuck on their previous mistake and limited apprehension levels; this required a research on the mistakes.
