Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the metacognitive awareness levels of pre-service teachers at Department of Turkish Language Teaching with regards to different variables and also to find out the relationship among these variables. For this purpose, relational screening model was used in the study. The sampling of the study consists of 371 Turkish Language preservice Teachers studying at the Department of Turkish Language at a university in the West of Turkey in 2013-2014 academic year. The study aimed to find out if the data exhibits normal distribution or not. In the analysis process of the study, t-test and one-way variance analysis tests, which are two of the parametric tests, were used for the data with normal distribution, and Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis tests, which are not parametric tests, were used for the data without normal distribution.
