Abstract

It is known that fate is one of the key and universal categories of human culture that describes fundamental relations between Person and the World. It reflects centuries-old experience of nation-wide comprehension of freedom and necessity, attempt to call the forces that rule the world and human behaviour. “Plots about fate” registered in the international index of tales under the numbers 930-934 occur in the folklore of many peoples. In the article this subject is studied in the mythological, religious and folklore aspects. At first the concept “fate” was connected with ideas about concrete things, elements of rituals on the base of naturalism; later this concept acquired abstract features and was enriched by symbols, imagery and was reflected in writing as anthropological notions. In monotheistic religies the problems of mysteriousness of “fate”, its predetermination and etc. are proved on the basis of the concrete sources given from the religious books.
