Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the duration of physical education courses in elementary school education from the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. For this purpose, all of prepared physical education courses in elementary school curriculum have been investigated. Through examination of summary judgment related to physical education courses in national education councils, policies related to physical education lessons has been tried to be analyzed. In order to collect the data, literature review is conducted in this study. For this purpose, resources in various libraries, institutions, journals had been scaned and the data obtained were used in the study. The result of study shows that elementary school program in Europe include physical education courses by %10-11 and implementation period of the courses is between 200-300 hours.
