@article{2015,title={A BOOK HAVING INFLUENCE ON TEVFİK FİKRET},abstractNode={Being one of the most important poets in Turkish Literature, Tevfik Fikret has many writings on language and literature in different magazines, notably Servet-i Fünûn and newspapers. In most of these writings which represent Servet-i Fünûn movement and are written in an informal style, the poet analyzes contemporary language and literature events. Fikret’s writing titled “Musâhabe-i Edebiyye – Bir Mülahaza” which was published in the 429th issue of Servet-i Fünûn came out as he was greatly influenced by a book: “Le Livre de la Jungle”. Fikret was influenced by the narration and fluency of the book so much that he claimed that such a work couldn’t be written and will never be written in Turkish literary canon. This book which was written in English by Rudyard Kipling in 1894 and was translated into Turkish under different names was also adapted to the theatre and made into a film.
