Abstract

The promise of value maximizing constitutes a crucial and alternative form of motivational factor for social entrepreneurs different from for-profit entrepreneurs who have and who want to have their own business. In that respect, the profit and values of social entrepreneurship concepts are scrutinized thoroughly and deeply, even it is been called as “altruistic form of capitalism” In this article, the research question of “Does the combination of entrepreneurship/altruism produce the output called “social entrepreneurship”?” is proposed in the context of altruistic scale of entrepreneurs versus social entrepreneurs -that turns out significant results within the sample of 355 entrepreneurs-. In addition to these results, 20 item Self Report Altruism Scale proposed by Rushton, Chrisjohn, and Fekken (1981) in Turkish version is contributed to the literature with validity analysis through conducting exploratory factor analysis and the differences between two different groups of entreprene
