The present study aims to read and comprehend Hijab issue in Islam's original texts. So, the study will examine whether Hijab is a pressure from the community or not. On examining the critics to Islam, it is seen that perception of change is something different from identification in community. Conflicts on Hijab issue has led to a distance between community by means of laicism since the foundation of Turkish republic. That case can be understood through the bans on Hijab in universities as of 1980s and the terms like civilization/modernity/westernization.
